Salento Páramo Salento

Alta Montaña Responsable
2 Días / 1 Noches – 40 km aprox.

General description

“We don’t operate mass mountain tours; we design responsible expeditions where experience, safety, and a safe return are the priority.”

Our approach combines:
Real technical safety
Applied environmental education
Low-impact operations
Integration with the rural economy

This high-mountain trek is a circuit that begins and ends in Salento, connecting strategic ecosystems of the Coffee Region in a challenging yet profoundly enriching experience.

The meeting point will be in Salento, from where we will travel to the Cocora Valley to begin the trek.

The route ascends gradually along traditional trails to the Estrella de Agua area, a transition point into páramo ecosystems. From there, we continue to Finca Primavera, where we will spend the night, with rest areas and meals in a high-mountain rural setting.

The second day ascends to altitudes close to 4,000 meters above sea level, where, on a clear day, it’s possible to see high-altitude landmarks such as Nevado del Tolima and Paramillo del Quindío. Afterward, a gradual descent begins, passing through rural farms, high Andean forest, and traditional trails until returning to the Cocora Valley and Salento.
This trek is physically demanding, with constant weather changes and exposure to harsh mountain conditions. It operates under principles of minimal environmental impact.
