Cocora Valley Horseback Riding Coffee Tour

Located in the heart of Colombia’s coffee region and the majestic Central Andes mountain range, Salento is one of Colombia’s most captivating destinations. This full-day tour combines three unforgettable experiences: a hike through the Cocora Valley, a visit to a coffee farm, and a horseback ride through the mountains and rivers of Salento.

We begin with a hike through the stunning Cocora Valley, home to the iconic wax palms, Colombia’s national symbol. We’ll pass by two viewpoints surrounded by cloud forest, where it’s possible to spot birds such as hummingbirds, trogons, and, with luck, the majestic Andean Condor. This first leg connects you deeply with nature and offers unique opportunities to connect with it and capture beautiful moments.

We’ll return to Salento and stroll along the main street. We’ll have an hour for lunch before continuing our horseback riding tour. An expert will accompany you, leading you through coffee-growing mountains, along rural paths surrounded by native vegetation, past rivers, and offering incredible panoramic views. Our horseback ride takes us directly to a coffee farm, where we’ll begin an immersion into the world of Colombian coffee. You’ll learn about the entire process: planting, harvesting, selection, drying, and roasting. We’ll finish with a guided tasting of specialty coffees, learning to identify flavors, aromas, and brewing techniques.
