General description

Enjoy a comprehensive experience that combines the Andean Forest ecosystem with the architectural heritage of Quindío. On this tour, we explore the Santa Rita Nature Reserve, famous for its old railway tunnels and crystal-clear waters, culminating in an immersion in the history and viewpoints of Salento.

Departure by Jeep Willys: We begin the tour from Salento in traditional transportation to the village of Boquía, the historical origin of the municipality. Trekking and Railway History: Entrance to the Santa Rita Reserve. We begin a low-intensity hike through the tunnels of the old railway line, a route that blends the green of the forest with insights into 20th-century engineering, before entering the waterfalls where you will have free time to enjoy the cascading water and natural pools.

We return to Salento to begin the cultural phase of the tour, with a Cultural and Architectural Immersion along a guided walk on Calle Real (Royal Street). We analyze the wattle and daub architecture, the meaning of the typical colors and the evolution of Salento from coffee town to global destination, passing through the Salento viewpoint and the Alto de la Cruz to get the best panoramic view of the Cocora Valley and the central mountain range.
