WAX PALM FOREST
We will begin the journey by vehicle until we reach the “El Cielo” farm, located at 3100 meters above sea level, which is halfway along the Carbonera route. Clemente will greet us with a delicious coffee and give us an introduction to the fascinating cloud forest. Here, you will have the opportunity to plant a wax palm or native tree, contributing to reforestation and the transformation of the territory. After this experience, we will continue the journey, passing the line that marks the highest point and the division between the Quindío and Tolima departments, before descending to Carbonera at 2900 meters above sea level. There, we will enter the trails of one of the densest wax palm forests in Colombia, walk to the Tochecito waterfall, and finally enjoy lunch at the traditional Colombian farm “Doña Marleny,” who will surprise us with her delicious seasoning and the menu of the day. At the end of this unforgettable natural experience, we will begin our return to Salento, taking with us the memories of a naturally unforgettable experience.
